VINSEUM’s Tavern wins the Cartaví 2024 award in the best Wine Bar in Catalonia category

This recognition validates the excellence in the own management of VINSEUM’s Tavern space

Vilafranca del Penedès, May 27th, 2025. Yesterday evening, in the city of Barcelona, the winning establishments of the Cartaví 2024 awards were announced, one of them being VINSEUM’s Tavern, considered the best Wine Bar in Catalonia, a new category within the awards, until now restricted to the restaurant guild.

This recognition validates VINSEUM’s decision taken four years ago to bet on a self-management project of a space that for the Museum of Wine Cultures of Catalonia must be the best showcase to disseminate, in glasses, the richness, quality, and variety of Catalan wines.

VINSEUM’s Tavern

The museum’s tavern is a space open to the public for the promotion and tasting of wines by the glass from all over Catalonia, accompanied by a tapas menu without cooking.

This VINSEUM space is a meeting point for all Catalan wine territories, an attentive and open agora for debate, planning, promotion, and enjoyment of the sector that works to dignify, give prestige, and add value to Catalan wine.

Led by sommelier Enric Santisteban, and with a team made up of three wine service professionals, currently VINSEUM’s Tavern menu has more than 70 wine references by the glass from all over Catalonia, and has a bottle wine offering of more than 230 references. It is one of the most extensive Catalan wine menus among wine bars throughout the country, a geographical area that represents 90% of the references offered by the tavern’s menu.

Since the reopening of the new museum, the tavern extends its hours and opens from Tuesday to Sunday. This extension allows serving the new museum visitors, while continuing to guarantee service to regular customers who come to the Royal Palace courtyard on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 12pm to 10pm. Check the hours at www.vinseum.cat.

What is Cartaví?

The Cartaví contest is held with the main objective of distinguishing the restaurants of Catalonia that carry out a daily arduous defense and promotion of Catalan wines supported by the 12 designations of origin of the country.

The Catalan Wine Association is the organizer of these annual awards with the intention of promoting the presence of Catalan wines on the menus of restaurants located in Catalonia, as well as promoting knowledge of wines produced in Catalan wine regions both to the restaurant and sommelier professional and to the consumer.

In 2024, the Cartaví awards celebrated their eleventh edition.
