VINSEUM and INCAVI sign a collaboration agreement to promote Catalan wine culture
VINSEUM Museum of Wine Cultures of Catalonia and the Catalan Institute of Vine and Wine (INCAVI) signed this morning a collaboration agreement for the next four years that aims to preserve, study, and disseminate Catalan wine heritage, while strengthening the visibility and recognition of the sector. The signing took place at VINSEUM, and was presided over by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Food, Òscar Ordeig, as president of INCAVI, and the president of VINSEUM’s board of trustees and mayor of Vilafranca del Penedès, Francisco Romero. The director general of INCAVI, Joan Gené, also participated in the event.
The agreement wants to recognize the new VINSEUM as the new home of Catalan wine, and therefore, that the location be from now on a key figure in promoting projects that allow continuing with the task of disseminating the history of vine and wine in Catalonia and research, which INCAVI already carries out, and joining efforts in promoting quality wines from our country.
Likewise, the two entities will coordinate in common dissemination activities and projects such as writing a book that collects the history of vine and wine in Catalonia or programming conferences and congresses that help to be a voice for Catalan wine, and achieve the support and involvement of Designations of Origin and Catalan wineries in the task. Regarding the more cultural aspect, with this agreement, INCAVI will also support current cultural projects of VINSEUM such as the Most Festival.
